Photo of recovery position

Definition

In first aid, the recovery position (also called semi-prone) is the position you often use for unconscious but breathing casualties.

Performance

Start with one hand flat palm up in front of you , fingers sideways. With main hand start with pointer and middle extended from fist and undersides touching palm; rotate hand 90 degrees so that sides of fingers lie on palm with pointer hooked in front of hooked middle finger.

Hint

You are turning a person into the recovery position with one leg forward to stop them rolling on stomach.
