High Impact Starters

Adult Sign - High Impact Signs for Beginners

Unit 1 : High Impact Starters

The most common question I get is where and how do I start to introduce Auslan (Australian sign language) to my house?

This course lays it out for you in simple steps from the perspective of adult communication where a parent or partner is perhaps recently deafened or had a stroke that effects speech.

It focus' on home based communication and starts with signs that will make an impact on your quality of communication on an average day.

We will travel at a faster pace than the baby course, which assumes a slower pace for the child to learn. This course assumes you are learning and practicing with another adult in your home, so the pace of adoption will be faster.

We start with 8 high impact signs. These are words that if you could communicate them easily they are likely to be highly impactful starting points. They can be used in isolation to provide both a question and answer, and should be easy to integrate into your day.
